Create an assessment

Choose assessment sources, set review details, and prepare an assessment for your team.

An assessment organizes questions, answers, evidence, and review decisions inside a project. You need Contributor, Admin, or Owner access to the project, and the workspace needs assessment access.

Have at least one source ready: a template from the Sorena Library or a file containing the material for the assessment.

  1. Open the Projects Hub, select the project, and choose New artifact > Assessment.
  2. In Basics, enter the assessment name. Add a code or description if they help your team identify it.
  3. In Classification, review the intended audience, information classification, and any NDA or domain settings that apply to this work.
  4. In Review settings, choose a review frequency and deadline if needed.
  5. In Assessment sources, choose templates under Sorena Library, or select and upload files under Upload / Drive Files. Check Selected sources before continuing. At least one source is required.
  6. In Exclusions, review which files should be ignored when answering and whether to enable continuous monitoring.
  7. In Review, check your choices and select Create assessment.

Sorena opens the assessment after creation. Check its questions and any available answers, then review the supporting evidence before recording decisions.

Use Maintain assessment questions to add or edit questions and answers, Assessment settings to maintain sources and review details, and AI Autopilot to process the assessment.

Choose sources and exclusions carefully

The source material defines what you want to assess. Project Drive files are included for answering unless you exclude them. Review Auto-exclude source files during answering so a questionnaire or requirement document is not mistaken for proof that your organization meets its own requirements. Turn it off only when the source files contain answers you intend to reuse.

If you combine templates and files, check Add to sources or Replace sources before creating the assessment. Sorena recommends one template because several can have conflicting structures. After creation, review the questions for duplication or gaps.

If you cannot continue

If the source stage asks for a source, select at least one file or template. If creation is unavailable, ask a project admin to check your project role and the workspace's assessment access. Use Save draft and exit to return later; confirm the restored source selections before submitting.

If Sorena creates the assessment with a template or exclusion warning, open Assessment settings and retry the missing templates or exclusions. Check the assessment that was created before starting another one.
