Assessment sources and exclusions
Maintain question sources, adopt template updates, and choose which files and policy checks AI should exclude.
Open the Projects Hub, select the assessment, then choose Settings. Maintaining sources and exclusions requires Contributor access or higher in both the workspace and project, with active Platform and Assessment licenses.
Seed files supply questions or controls. Supporting Drive files supply material for answers unless excluded. A requirement in a seed file is not evidence that your organization meets it.
Add or remove question sources
Open Seed Files to see the files from which AI extracts questions or controls.
- Choose Add from Drive to browse project files, select the required files, and confirm Add Seed Files.
- Choose Add from Templates when template access is available, find a template, and confirm the selection.
- Check that the new source appears in the list.
The remove action removes a file from the assessment's seed list. To update a library-backed source, check its version label and Update available badge, then choose Update template. Wait for Template updated before continuing. If the source list cannot refresh, choose Try again; previously loaded sources may still be displayed.
Changing sources does not replace the need to inspect the resulting questions and answers. Use AI Autopilot when you need to import or regenerate assessment material, then check the resulting items.

Exclude files from answering
Exclusions lists files that AI must not use when answering. Choose Add Exclusion Files, browse the project Drive, select files, and confirm. Removing a file from this list makes it eligible for answering again. File exclusions apply during the answering phase; they do not remove the files from Drive.

Exclude policy checks
AI Policies controls which policy checks are excluded. Choose Browse & Add Exclusions, browse policy groups or templates, review the selection and scope, provide the requested reason, then confirm. Check Applied Exclusions afterward. Use an exclusion's delete action when it should no longer apply. A file exclusion and a policy exclusion have different effects, so check which tab you are editing.

Check template updates
A library-update notification shows the previous and announced template versions, the affected seed file, and any available Seed import status and last-imported date. Update available means the announced version has not been adopted. Updated means the assessment uses that version or a newer one. A Newer update available notice has been replaced by a later notice; inspect the latest update before acting.
Choose View new version to inspect the announced template, or Open assessment to check the affected assessment. When offered, Refresh seed file adopts the current active library version. In Seed Files, the equivalent action is Update template.
Refreshing requires Contributor access or higher in both the workspace and project, with active Platform and Assessment licenses.
Refreshing creates a new project file for the active template and replaces the assessment's seed-file link. The old file remains in Drive. The new file is queued for file processing; a successful refresh does not by itself confirm that questions were imported or answers reviewed. Check the source's version, import status, resulting questions, and answers. Imported with some issues and Import failed need follow-up before relying on the assessment.
Marking a notification read only changes its read state. To verify adoption, reopen Seed Files and check the version and update badge. If the notice says Seed file removed or Version unavailable, inspect the assessment's current sources before choosing a replacement. After an error, check the list before retrying so you do not add the source twice.
