Maintain requirements and supporting content
Find register entries, assign responsibility, and connect the material used for assessment.
A requirement record describes the framework requirement. A register entry tracks that requirement in one management system, including its applicability, owners, linked content, and assessment. Open Management systems, choose a system, then open Requirements to work with its register entries.
Find and review an entry
Search the register, select a status, or open the filter panel. Filters include frameworks, domains, topics, sections, priorities, implementation phases, owners, applicability, changed content, links, and risk information. Use the list or section view and sort controls to find the work you need. Clear invalid saved filters before continuing.
Open an entry to read its Requirement text, Register notes, expected and linked documents, addressing sections, assessment, and related requirements. A result marked stale needs reassessment because its supporting content changed. An inherited Met hint from another system does not decide this entry's status.

Set responsibility and applicability
Administrators can use Edit requirement to review applicability, owners, review cadence, and home section. Provide an exclusion justification when excluding an entry. An excluded entry is outside assessment and displays its justification.
In the register list, administrators can use the priority and owner controls for a quick change. Use suggested priority removes a manual priority override. Check the saved row after a change; an entry that is busy or no longer accessible may remain unchanged.
For several entries, select them in the Requirements list and use the bulk change controls. You can add or remove a user or team owner, change review cadence, or include or exclude entries from assessment. An owner change affects the chosen owner and preserves other assignments. Use derived cadence restores expectation or template defaults; No review disables scheduling.
Read the bulk outcome before repeating an action. Some entries may be unchanged, unavailable, or busy. Wait for active work to finish and retry only the entries that still need the change.
Link existing material
- Open the entry and choose Link existing content where available.
- Choose Content to link and its Source project.
- If the content fulfills an expected template, review Expected template fulfilled.
- Select the eligible artifact or file, save the link, and check the updated linked-content list.
Use the link's remove action to detach it from this requirement; read the confirmation before proceeding. Review related requirements before using Reuse on related requirements. That action adds links to selected entries and leaves the source content in its existing project. Already-linked candidates are identified. If only some links succeed, review the updated list and preserved selection before retrying.
Create missing documents or collect evidence
Review the expected template preview before creating missing content. Check its family, revision, outline, and checklist, then choose an eligible project. A withdrawn template remains readable but cannot create new content.
External-evidence templates create evidence folders for collecting material. Use the evidence project's or folder's controls to inspect collected files and missing evidence. Add an evidence location or select an override destination when the screen offers it. File evidence is read-only during gap repair; upload updated evidence to address a file's gap.
For the full creation, import-preview, evidence-upload, and reader workflows, see Create documents and collect evidence.
Open linked content to check whether it is current, applicable, and approved. A requirement assessed as met can still have draft or unapproved documents, and applicability hints can identify documents or sections marked not applicable. These hints do not change the entry's applicability or status.
Handle a blocked change
Read the reason beside a disabled control. Writing linked content or assessing a requirement can require contributor access on its governing projects. If the entry or its linked material changed while you were editing, reload the current result and review the draft before saving again. Use Discard draft only when you intend to replace your unsaved changes.
Follow risks from a requirement
Read Risks or Risks from these gaps for the register risks associated with linked artifacts. Only risks in projects you can read are shown. Open a risk or choose View in register to review its status, owner, severity, and treatment there.
A met or excluded requirement does not automatically close an existing linked risk. If the assessment reports a risk decision or a risk remains open after the requirement changes, review it in the register. Unavailable risk counts and a truncated risk preview do not mean there are no risks.
