Manage research chats
Find a previous conversation, share access, and keep a copy of useful research.
Open Copilot Agent in the workspace that owns the chat. Use Search chats... in the sidebar to find a conversation, then select it to load its messages. A project-scoped chat list can show only chats for the selected project; check that context before assuming a chat has disappeared.
Find and reuse an answer
Use the message search in the chat header to find text within the selected conversation. Timeline shows session activity. The header's More actions menu offers Copy conversation, Copy link to chat, and Export where available. On narrow screens, settings, sharing, and timeline actions also appear in this menu.
Copying a chat link provides a destination for someone who already has access. Use Sharing to review access before sending the link. Sharing can involve individual members, teams, workspace sharing, and project access; use the options available to your role. Check the selected role before saving a change.
Keep a separate line of research
Choose More actions > Fork session to start a separate continuation from an existing conversation when the action is available. Wait for the fork to finish before continuing. Use a distinct name so colleagues can recognize the branch of research.
To change a chat's name, choose Rename from its menu, enter the new name, and save. If the change fails, keep the existing chat open and retry after checking your access. The name change does not require starting a replacement conversation.
Remove a conversation
Choose Delete from the chat's menu and read the confirmation before proceeding. Deletion cannot be undone. Export any conversation you need to keep first.
For a running conversation, use its cancellation control or Stop generating before removing it, and check whether queued prompts also need attention. If a control is absent or disabled, review your chat access and wait for the active operation to finish.
Recover from connection or save problems
Read the connection and session status shown in the chat. If a message or settings change fails, check the conversation for the last saved result before retrying. This helps avoid repeating a prompt that already started work. If a shared chat becomes read-only, ask the person managing its sharing to review your role.
